It's been awhile since I last updated this page. I cannot believe how fast the year is flying by. I
cannot believe it will be March already on Sunday!!! Where has the time gone?? lol
Update on my Grandpa Jack- The body scan showed the cancer hadn't spread in his body. So they started radiation. He has gone for 2 weeks now. They are doing 35 days and it's 45 mins each time. He is very weak and nauseated a lot but that is normal with radiation. He felt the same way a few years ago when he had lung cancer on the other lung and he went through radiation for it then too.
I hope and pray it will shrink and go away like the other cancer did. I also hope he gets his strength back after he is done with Radiation so he can do the stuff he enjoys again. He loves to watch Cooking Shows on tv and try different recipes. Right now he is too weak to cook and I know that bothers him.
As for us. I seen a Neurologist on Feb.3rd. He said I have Post Traumatic Migraines. He said i'll probably have them the rest of my life.
He said I could take seizure medicine, muscle relaxers and naproxen.
I go back in May for a follow up. I haven't been getting migraines as bad this week. I was having them everyday since the wreck but this past week I have only had a few and they haven't been nearly as BAD as they used to be. So maybe things are getting better.
I went to the Ob/Gyn on Feb. 4th for a Cervical biopsy to see if I still had Hyperplasia. I was diagnosed with Severe Hyperplasia last May.
This time the results came back that I only have Simple Hyperplasia. I had my choice of taking Megace- 1 pill a day for 3 months or take Depo-Provera shot once a month for 3 months.
I chose the Depo-Provera shot because I took the Megace last year and it made me VERY sick and I was in a LOT of pain while on it!!
I had my first shot 2 weeks ago. The nurse said do you want it in the butt or arm. I said, " Arm Please!" lol
It didn't hurt and I haven't had any side effects from it. I had a few people tell me NOT to take the shot because they had it once and they gained a lot of weight and they had bad side effects from it. Some even said they got PCOS from it. Well I'm already overweight but I watch what I eat and I exercise and I also already have PCOS. PCOS isn't caused by a shot though!
I'm very glad that I decided on the shot. It was a good decision for me.
My Ob/GYN told me that the Simple Hyperplasia should be cleared up in 3 months and then she will help us conceive. She knows we want a baby badly!
I hope to be a Mother before I'm 30 and I'll be 29 in April!!!
Bill had an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon on Feb. 18th. to go over the results of the MRI with dye he had on Feb. 3rd. It turns out he has a Large tear in his Labrum. The type of tear is called a SLAP Lesion. It's a Large SLAP Lesion. He has to have surgey because the Orthopedic Surgeon said it would not get better without it and it would actually get worse. It will be outpatient surgery. The surgery is scheduled for April 9th. He will be home by afternoon. They said they would give him pain medicine for that night, the day after and then after that he probably won't need anything other than Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
He has two weeks of time built up at work so he is going to use it after he has surgery.
Bill had Core Training at work this week. Core Training is training they get once a year. Policy and procedures, First aid/CPR, Defense Tactics, Firearms, etc. He had the training Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The hours were 8am until 4pm. Then he got off at 4pm yesterday (Thursday) and had to be back at work for his normal shift @ 11:30pm that night.
He was not happy about it! They should have gave him the night off since he was there all day for training.
I also wanted to tell you I read a GREAT book this past week. It's called, "Everyone is Beautiful" by Katherine Center. I highly recommend it!! I got it and read it in one day, it was that good!!
Well that is the latest that is going on with us. I'll update again soon.
xoxo
